World Central Kitchen, Inc.
The World Central Kitchen is the first to the frontlines, providing fresh meals in response to humanitarian, climate and community crises. Food is essential to every single day, all over the world, and it is more important than ever in a crisis. WCK started with a simple idea, “when people are hungry, send in the cooks. Not tomorrow, today.”
We are honored to have supported WCK in the past to help the folks in Asheville, NC after Hurricane Helene ravaged the area. Asheville and the surrounding areas were turned into a post-apocalyptic landscape of fallen trees, downed power lines, flooded streets, and demolished infrastructure. Water lines were destroyed and severe landslides happened all throughout Buncombe County. WCK reached Asheville almost immediately and simultaneously began problem solving and providing meals. WCK is able to jump into these kind of situations and activate resources like food and water.
We are also honored to have supported WCK in the Gaza Relief efforts. WCK was the first relief effort to arrive in Gaza working shoulder to shoulder with local partners and community leaders to provide humanitarian aid and nourishing meals to the Palestinians who were forced to leave their homes. Sadly, World Central Kitchen also lost seven team members in this effort, who worked tirelessly to bring relief, essential aid, and hope to the most vulnerable. We strongly urge anyone that believes in this program to provide support in any way they can.
